Remember Paderno? Well, it is back, sort of. It is now called Meyer.
You may have heard this before, but last year Paderno, as we know it, was sold.
Canadian Tire bought the name, and name only, and rebranded their items as Paderno. Lingo too much? Basically Canadian Tire bought the name Paderno and stuck it on all their existing stuff.
Meyer bought the designs and factories. And the stuff we love and call Paderno is now known as Meyer.
So Paderno is not Paderno, Meyer is Paderno now.
There were questions as to whether Factory Sales would continue, but they have. And I had big questions about the quality, especially for the frying pans, and made myself a pest asking questions and making Meyer swear that the stuff was the same.
It is the same. Just a different company (Meyer) and different item names. The open stock one is now called “Confederation” and the other similar one, with the rounded handle, is called “Accolade”.
Like usual we focused on the cookware items and didn’t get any of the smaller things. There are also not as many items offered for sale. Just the usual sauce pans, baking sheets and sets. No good woks or coffee pots.
But we do have the four cup egg poacher.
Scoop N’ Weigh, the Candy Store for Grownups who are desperate for that new pot!
P.S. This newsletter is an extra one, so it doesn’t count in the usual rotation.
P.P.S. If you think the Pigs in Blankets may be a good gift for someone, you had better get into the store. We received 24 and only have 6 left. This is not only a grandparent’s thing, there are some “older” kids that will be getting this for Christmas. Gag gift you think?
